The 80s were a fun time, weren’t they?

Like Texas, everything was BIG in this decade.

Let’s see: there was big hair, big shoulders (via the ubiquitous shoulder pad), big pants (who really liked parachute pants, anyway?). The list goes on and on.

And there were big celebrity and societal events as well:

  • Prince Charles and Lady Diana married at Westminster Abbey on July 29, 1981. The world watched in awe. Everything was big - from the festivities to the fascinators

  • Not only were clothes over-the-top in size, but the colours were out of this world! Neon as fashion was never hotter than in the years between 1980 and 1990

  • Hair gel was the must-have beauty product of the decade - the philosophy of the time was “go big or go home” especially when it came to hair

And, as you know, fashion is cyclical and history often repeats itself. Wait long enough and trends (fashion and otherwise) that you thought would never come back do indeed return. In other words, we’re not out of the leg-warmer woods yet!
