Way, way over the top
The 1980s was a frightening time for those of us who remember and have lived to tell. Not only were we surrounded by spandex and neon, but in the era of “Mom Jeans” and huge belt buckles, it’s any wonder that we survived, considering the aerosol fumes from the hairspray that was being sprayed everywhere. Not only were we bulked up to the max, but we continued the fashion faux pas tenfold with incredibly (ugly) chunky jewelry, and spandex. Oh, the humanity.
The aesthetic that stayed with us for years affected survivors of the decade, many of whom went on to swear off fanny packs forever.
