I don’t remember listening to The Carpenters and yet I do remember hearing them.. so they must have been on the radio quite a bit. What’s interesting to me is that their music was so soft and sweet and comforting to hear and yet Karen was dealing with so much inner turmoil. Quite the paradox.
Marci - they were like wallpaper! They were everywhere! I'm sure you heard them and know the words to their songs by osmosis ;) Nonetheless, they were brilliant. I agree with your statement about Karen Carpenter. So very sad to learn of her struggles, which most of us found out about after she was gone.

Everyone knew she was sick, they just didn’t know it was anorexia nervous. Apparently, fans thought she had cancer. I can’t believe she was only 32. 😞
